There has been some negative media coverage recently about GP Practices. We want to reassure all our patients that we have been working hard throughout and continue to do so.
From the start of the pandemic, Government guidance said that all practices had to work by assessing over the telephone and focusing face-to-face contact to those most in need. We have seen patients face-to-face throughout, kept our doors open and numbers of consultations are higher than ever. To help increase capacity, we have recruited additional staff.
For many patients, telephone consultations are preferable and can provide the same level of medical care for certain things. So, as we did before Covid, we will offer both routine face-to-face and telephone when we can. We know that this strikes a really good balance for everyone.
We expect new government guidance soon and will keep you updated as we plan for the next phase.
