Open invitation: Leeds BME Dementia Forum’s BAME Dementia Roadshow (16 May, 10.30 – 14.30)

DEMENTIA ACTION WEEK – 15-21 MAY

Leeds Civic Hall (Banquet Hall)

This is a chance for anyone who wants to know more about living with dementia from diverse minority ethnic perspectives and/or wants to share experiences and views to improve services in Leeds.

The event is open to:

  • Members of the public
  • People living with dementia
  • Families and carers of people living with dementia
  • Interested professionals

The first half of the event will be a series of short information talks about dementia, what to look out for, what happens if you seek a diagnosis, and the support available to live with the condition.  Lunch is provided.

The second half will focus on population needs, including themes of identity and reminiscence.

There’ll be an opportunity to discuss and share experiences and have honest conversations about barriers to accessing diagnosis and support.  The intention is to tackle myths and stigma around dementia and come away with a better understanding of unmet needs, and good ideas for service development.

Booking is by Eventbrite or by phone, and this is the Eventbrite link:
