Health checks

NHS health check

If you are aged between 40 – 74 and have no existing health problems you will be invited for a Health Check. This is to assess your risk of developing heart disease, type 2 diabetes, kidney disease and stroke.  You will be asked some simple questions about your life style, we will record your height , weight, age, sex & ethnicity. We will take your blood pressure and do some simple blood tests to check your cholesterol and kidney function. Please ask at reception if you are interested.

Family planning

All doctors are happy to advise on family planning.

Dr Hossain fits and removes coils & inserts and removes Nexplanon implants (long-acting, reversible hormonal contraceptive).

Dr Joy also fits and removes Nexplanon.

The Practice Nurses administer Depo Provera injections.

We also encourage competent young persons to seek help and advice in a confidential setting. Ask at reception for details.
